I am now in the process of adding support for the new iShow DAC version 2.3 with ethernet and USB. I am curious to see if any of the firmware problems have been fixed. I'll let you know how it goes.

Are you sure it has ethernet?
It isn't mentioned in the specs... The RJ45 connector is marked "Easy ILDA" which makes me believe it is just an ILDA output

You could be right, and most likely you are.
So can you tell me a way they could cram a decent ILDA signal over 8 pins of output?
Aside from permanently mangling the ILDA signal (by using single-ended outputs) and bypassing the interlock completely, I see no way they could run more than 6 wire pairs over an 8-pin connector.
Or do they have a box that goes on the other end as well?

not very hard
they are doing the same thing here

I know how to do it (fairly straightforward), but not only does it completely defeat the ILDA standard (which specifies differential signals for each channel, thereby eliminating important ground issues), also, I wonder how iShow would get away with it in the USA, since there is no interlock circuit on the remote DAC and they would have a hard time getting the projector/DAC combination varianced through the CDRH.
uh, pretty sure most people using ishow dacs have non-varianced equipment
anyway you could always use a different cable for interlock
The iShow DAC has the RJ45 output and the normal DB25 ILDA output so I don't think any of the above is an issue.
I received the new version of the iShow DAC (2.3) today. Looks like some (or all) of the firmware problems that I mentioned in the past have been addressed. Even the software has been updated. Still nothing to write home about but hopefully it will work well with Spaghetti. Stay tuned.
