Heh, well, those shots (..save for two vids..) were from El Salvador and Guatemala... down there, as long as you keep a sharp eye on the skies, nobody cares... but, if you *do* hit someone's house-window or whatever, and bother someone, you don't worry about running from laywers, you worry about running from machetes...

    cheers to your Greenventures...

There’s no need for the attitude, I already apologised and explained my reasoning in an earlier post.

I do have a fair knowledge of the HASAWA, PUWER, LOLER etc as I work very closely with said regs every working day. My signature (like everybody else’s, is supposed to be humorous, hence it does not refer to *any* real act (think Google bot).

You dropped the troll bomb, I stepped on it: You win.

Recklessly interfering with Darwin’s natural selection process, thereby extending the life cycle of dim-witted ignorami; thus perpetuating and magnifying the danger to us all, by enabling them to breed and walk amongst us, our children and loved ones.

Whatever, it was meant to be amusing, not trolling. I am not particularly sure I like being called a troll simply for posting what I hoped was some nice beam shots and a bit of banter.

I really must try and remember to add some better lenses to the next Thorlabs order ... get a decent beam out of it and give the cat someting to chase

the reason everyone is jumping down your throat is we have had people stop by that probably would use a 'scope to play "chase the dot" with their cat... so while I find it amusing, I could see how some people would find it in poor taste...

well, maybe, but your seemingly nonchalant attitude towards this laser might make other people think its a toy...

if this were a gun forum and you were talking about "playing" with a gun like that everyone would be jumping down your throat too...

something like this commands respect and I think its a disservice to everyone to make it seem otherwise...

that being said I also own a 'scope and fire it up every now and then to go "ooo green" and thats about it lol

There's a UK stockist I've used that shifts 'em out for around 40 squid for the exact same mini-whiter
Just another option, should you not go for Jon's consum' pack. (which is mega value!)

How much power would you need to project on clouds? Can this be done in the mW range or do you need something >1W to do it?

Depends on how far away the clouds are...and how high you are... and how sharp is your eyesight...
or even if it is the time of the year for the european swallow to migrate.... and if it is carrying coconuts...

    no answer really.

but why would you want to do that really?

Lets say the clouds are at 1500ft.

    Why not?
