Default QS - Event copying in Timeline

Can anyone lend a hand explaining how to copy reoccurring events either as single cues or linked together events? There must be a "copy" function in QS for repeated events to insert when a section of a song is repeated. Please dont tell me with LDX or LD2000...:-)

    Tks!

There isn't if you mean copying the cue with keys!

It's on my list for Beyond improvement recommendations and may filter down to QS.

Currently you can copy the cue but it copies without the keys.

You can however copy separate effects eg. where you've added an effect time line and then drawn an effect box and added an effect, that will copy but has to be done seperately.

I think we're talking of the same thing. I want to repeat a series of events to have them reoccur in another spot on the timeline; i dont think 'keys' have anything to do with it. You'd think you'd be able to right click and just copy/paste an event, but I know I'm too brainashed by 'Windows'. I'm also shocked there is no 'undo' command. I've lost several cues by not being able to go back.

Again...it's probably the nude in me...im mean nube...oops. I prob should spell it 'noob' from now on huh?

    tks!

If by Event Effect you mean this box and any keys it contains:

Then no, there's no way to copy those with the cue or even copy them separately.

    If be effect you mean:

Then this can be copied. Draw an empty effect box in the effect timeline under the new key then copy the effect and paste.

I just tried this and it is fairly easy. Make you initial event click and ctrl click the event and effect, right click when both are selected and select copy animation, paste this into a cue, then add this new cue to your timeline again and again.

I think what he wants to do is copy the cue with the Event Keys in place. So far as I'm aware the cue always copies with a blank set of events.

That's a useful tip though Aaron for copying cue and effects line together though.

    First off....thanks for helping!!!

Maybe I'm not using the right language or terms...you make it seem so simple, yet I just cant get it to work. Aaron...this is how ive been trying to do it..it seemed to make the most sense. I dont see "copy animation" when I right click. I only see "copy synth". I feel like an idiot...this seems like it should be so easy.

white Light....Aarons got it right...this is what I'm trying to do. I just want to replicate strings of effects to multiple areas of a song.

I wish I knew someone who knows this stuff so I could just sit down and watch.

I might as well hit you guys up with another one. Are beam effects (circles, statics, lines, waves) not able to be faded? Or is this somewhere in your projector settings? No matter how aggressive I make the fade...its either off or on....no fade.

I think your may be using the animation editor to draw circles etc.

You need to be using the abstract generator and then you can add effects such as fades using the effects generators.

Failing that are you sure your projector is analogue and not TTL? TTL is only on or off so can't produce fades.

On the effects issue, which of the effects boxes I posted above are you trying to copy from?

AHHH...TTL...no fades. I can check that question off. Thanks, didnt know this. One more reason supporting buying anologue next.

Here is exactly what I'm trying to do.

    1) dropped 4 pre made beam cues down onto Track 1's timeline; side by side, in time with four elements of the song. These four elements are repeated at different points during the song.
    2) edited the 4 cues based on size and position using the effects editor.
    3) now i'd like to "copy" this block of four cues and reinsert them back on the same track, at different points during the song. I feel im doing something wrong if the only way to do this is to reconstruct each one of the four, trying to match them exactly to the original.

I hope I'm explaining this okay. I keep going back over it thinking I'm missing something obvious. Aaron, you nailed it. But I don't see the "copy animation" command.

ARG...where can I take a class?!!? LOL.... The crazy thing is...evrything else about the software "I get"...it will be awsome for live laser jockey stuff. But...my real interest is in the show programming which i'm definitely struggling with.
