    Sorry for the delay....

Steve I am Dale's Friend you meet me at Rob's and at Dale's. I'm at CWRU. For simple silvering did you ever try the aldehyde method? It is soooo easy to do and requires nothing. You can then simply coat over with SiO2. As for sputtering, I'd need the target but have a device.

yeah, I'm doing that method for another project. Its the Sio2 we would need, as the sulfer dioxide in the air eats the silvered mirrors rather quick. Which size target would we need to aqquire ? Is there a Lesker part?

Do you Dr Lava?, he is also at Case.

Hello all, I havent been following this thread, not even sure if I would understand it if I did. Heard a bit about alignment and co linetary. Has the topic of taking the output of the axicon 4 and putting it into a fiber cable so that all the light gets scrambled then collimate the output?

4 beams come in at 90' angles to each other and land on the reflection coated faces of a pyramidal prism.
They come out as 4 dots close together, nearly overlapping.

So 4 .65 mm diameter beams at 250 mW each from red diodes become a 1.2 mm, roughly square beam at around 800 mW.
