    4 is cheaper... Much more optimal in this economy.

    Could you combine different wavelengths this way also?

    4 might have something to do with the density of the fixturing around the axicon.

    To paraphrase famous line
    "
    Man who postulate possible with graphics software should not interrupt man doing it!"

    Ok, unless you like your laser looking like a 9" dinnerplate , or driving up the costs to the point its easier to do the knife edge.
