Default I NEED A DAC !!! do you have one ?

I got so many galvos that is not in use !
And I have a idea of making a superduper 1WATT ultimate power laser just for fun 8)

But I want maybe a stand alone effect laser..
What can I use them ??

http://www.laservisuals.com/LV12DMX.htm maybe something like this ?

But If you have a DAC to sell me, let me know !!!
It`s only 8kpps galvos.. so it does not to be the best one...

    Cheers..

Yes this will works for stand alone...
This hardware seems to comes from JMLaser (as laservisuals are selling M6008 and M9024).
If you have M6008, you can try the low cost version, the MP12C.

Medialas also sells the HotBoard2, which seems very good (compatible with Mamba show files).

I project to make my laser projector stand alone too, so if you find a solution, I would be happy to ear the results!

    nice...
Yes stand alone was my idea
I dont think I will buy the most expensive one !
As it`s onlly supposed to do beam effects..

But if I get this "stand alone unnit" do I have to use a DAC also ?

the Laser Control Signal is output via an industry standard ILDA 25 Pin Socket
So no, you don't need a DAC card. Just connect the stand alone card directly to your scanner's amp, and it will work...

To elaborate, the stand-alone card actually has it's own controller, including a processor and some on-board nvram, along with a tiny DAC to convert the digital files stored in the nvram to an analog signal to send to the galvos. Basically it's a scaled-down, all-in-one version of the computer-and-DAC solution you're using now. (With a lot *less* flexibility!)

Pangolin makes a stand-alone card that uses flash memory to store the images. You can pre-program the thing and then let it go on it's own. I think Medialas sells something like this as well. Some of these stand-alone units even include a DMX port so you can connect them to your lighting panel and control them remotely. They're cheap when compared to the cost of a PC and a full-fledged controller card (like the Pangolin QM2000 board). But if all yo need to do is project a corporate logo for 6 hours, one of these stand-alone units is a great idea. (But forget it if you want to do a live laser show sync'ed to music!)

Ok thanx for all the info

One idea was to maybe use the laser in a live show yes..
But the sync with music is no problem.. just a laser effect

But the main mission was to have the laser maybe outside, pointing up in the sky maybe with randon beam effects

Get a Flashback from Pangolin if you want to go the stand alone route. The FB3 has easily the most power of any standalone output devices and also has the ability to run with live pro via usb.

    Dave:

FLASHBACK! That's the one! I knew Pangolin made something like that but I couldn't remember the name. (I figured one of the more Pangolin-savvy guys here would know it though!) There was a thread talking about that little sucker a while back and I remember being fairly impressed at all the things it could do for just being a stand-alone unit.

Can you use LivePRO + Flashback without buying LD2000?
