At the moment the only software I *own* is the Alphalite software, which isn't really capable of doing the type of work we're talking about for this project.

I plan on purchasing the Mamba Black software, and indeed I've been playing around with the demo version of it for about a week now. (The demo version supports all the features of the retail version except for saving your work and sending output to the DAC.)

Because the demo version can't save your work, I've been forced to dictate the details of the laser show clip I created to Astroguy, since he is the closest person to me that actually owns the retail version of Mamba. He's been able to re-create the entire clip on his computer and send the resulting laser show files back to me. When I load those files on Mamba using the custom file formats that Mamba uses, I see the show exactly as it was originally created. (YEA! 8) )

But when I try to load up the supposedly cross-platform ILDA frameset version of the same clip, I either have timing problems, or timing problems AND missing effects. (It depends on which option is used to export the ILDA frames.)

Im a mamba black user as well

its a great show tool but limited design tools, but every new release shows
    something new,

but i must admit to not actualy designing any complete shows with it , i mainly use it for live work using a midi keyboard to access the stored frames

the last release was the icing on the cake for this ..... it allowed me to asign controls ( pots n pitchbend etc ... ) to adjust the effects added to the frames

I still use Alphalite pro to design the frames then send them to mamba

the thing with mamba is its robust ..... alpha always tended to crash or hang halfway through a show and then needed a pc reboot , but ive found that mamba just keeps going ....

    all the best ...... Karl
