    Interestingly, the reason I was originally looking at the IOF's stuff is because
    they have some very cool new ways of collimating LEDs...
    I recommend swinging by your local college campus and looking up
    "Andreas Bräuer" on google scholar... There's a few interesting gems there!

    IMHO, fast color modulation would be more important than scanner speed.
    For TV like delivery, you'd just need to tune the galvos to be optimized
    for the sweep. So your main concern is "could the laser sweep the
    entire desired projected image area >29 times a second"... LEDs and
    non diode-pumped solid state lasers can be modulated well into the
    Ghz range. So the feasibility is not that far out there, It's just difficult to
    use conventional scanheads to sweep a large enough area since their
    scanamps are more general purpose in design.
