    Default Anyone used Networx?

Has anyone on here used Networx before to monitor their bandwidth usage?

I have some very high usage this month from just web browsing so intend to monitor my connection to see if the ISP is ripping me off.

I've seen this recommended on many forums as it allows you to set your internet usage allowance start date eg. 5th of the month and then map out the peak and off peak times.

I've scanned it with both Kaspersky and Malware Bytes and can detect no problems.

I wasn't aware that UK ISPs limited bandwidth?

Yeah many have set allowances. Mine is 10GB per month. Seems I've used 8.9GB in 16 days of web browsing!

I know I downloaded a 1Gb file and put up a 500mb video. Other than that, I'm very puzzled.

Has someone guessed your Wireless passphrase ?

I myself keep track of my BW usage (I'm on a bit of a weird tariff) on the router itself, it's always on whilst the connection is up and does me nice graphs and stats plus most obviously it's the place where all the traffic passes through so the most accurate.

    Cheer,s,

    Hi Nige,

I don't think anyone's guessed it as its a huge combination of letters and numbers but I'm going to change it to be safe.

The reason why I downloaded Networx was because it not only keeps a record of your usage month by month from your monthly start date to end date, but it also logs hourly usage and can differentiate between different times of day on an hourly basis. So on my deal from 12pm-7am is entirely free whereas from 7.01am-11.59pm counts towards the 10GB allowance. This monitor allows you to assign hours of the day in that way and then tracks both your charged and uncharged usage.

You can view hourly, daily, weekly or monthly breakdown, stats for up and down, stats by connection type, overall stats and stats where it differentiates between chargeable and non chargeable times of day.
