    Question Mamba Black VS Phoenix

    Hey ya'll,

So I'm just starting out in this laser game, and I have a gig coming up very soon. The dude recons that Mamba Black or Phoenix works best with his system. Could anyone out there please weigh in and tell me which one you think is best?

At this stage its just a typical kinda show, geometry, patterns and hopefully some mapping if the programs can do it....

    All advice is muchly appreciated!

    Cheers,

    Weka

If his system is ILDA compatable you can look into the LSX software. Do a search for it. It works with the Ether Dream dac which is made by a board member. You can also look into Pangolin Quick Show. Good discussion going on here. http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...ht=ether+dream

    Welcome.

Thanks ArcDevilz. Yes in a perfect world I'll be running LSX with a DAC like that. But at this stage I just needa use the software that the dude that owns the laser says works best...and that is free...not sure what DAC he has.

Phoenix... go with phoenix. It will be a lot closer to the way LSX works than Mamba Black. Mamba black is OK however I found the User Interface to be a bit different from what I expect. That made it a little difficult to do things. Phoenix and LSX work similarly in the User Interface department. Those are my 2 cents.

TBH I don't see why any particular software would work better than any other with a laser over ILDA. More likely he has an interest in selling those softwares.

Personally, I'd just get Pangolin Beyond. Pangolin is the Industry standard software and Beyond is easy to use but very powerful. I'll almost guarantee you'll end up buying Pangolin down the line so cheaper to do it now.
