Default Really cool idea - Photoluminescent Screens & Scrims

I've been messing around with shooting my beamshows against a photo-luminescent screen. I think this would be a great club application. The "trails" and patterns left behind add a whole new dimension to your shows. Try it out...just Google Photo-luminescent Film and put it in a frame to project against. You can also paint it on your scrim material for another awesome effect.

    Thats it...

    Ltr!

I've done that with layers of semi-transparent scrim painted with glow-in-the-dark paint (similar to your application). It always looks awesome. Fun to find new patterns that make the best use of it. The 445 beams work especially well.

I had a similar idea a while back for halloween. I was going to setup a scrim painted with glow in the dark paint and put it on the side of my house where it's very dark. The plan was to draw an image of a ghost one or two times with a 405nm diode. The idea was it would draw very quickly, hoping no one noticed or by the time they look over only see a glowing ghost appear out of no where and slowly fade away! Never had the time to finish it, might try again this halloween.

    Default Gr8 idea...

fwiw, these guys are the masters / their paint is the shizz..

http://wildfirefx.com/products/paints/luminescent.aspx - have both 'daylight-visible' and 'uv-only visible' products... ie: they were used to 'decorate' the halls / entrance at Laserium Van Nuys, back when they had the front-half of the bldg. as-well / were running 'regular' shows / private-events, etc -

ID:	30312 ...point-is - Yes - when we shot laser-fx - even 'boring-ol' 532 on orange (..didn't have 445s "back then", lol.. it produced some really-cool / trippy fx...

..Oh - PS - those first-two 'lobby' shots were done with the 'uv-only-visible' stuff - The walls were *totally white* / blank, during the 'day' - just look like 'plain white walls', till the blacklights bring them alive...

..now try a 405 lumia on yer glow-scrim... when the 'hot-spots' co-incidence, extra-coolness-happens... ..then 'overlay' 650nm red cycloids

    cheers...

@Jon...Very cool stuff. You know another thing I've been messing with is mini detraction pass through screens. Rather than just using a bounce mirror, I mount a rod from the ceiling with a small frame containing the film. Target the beam and they break apart at full strength. It's endless...never gets old for me. Hey...not to sound too impatient, but did you ever send a reply to my PM or email? Worried it got lost.

Always good to hear from you all!

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
