    Default A few questions

Ok i have a few questions. What are those things called inside Laser Projector's that reflects the beam like a Mirror but also lets a beam from the other side in? Where would i buy them? I think they are called
Dichromatic Mirrors or Filters (not sure). ops:

Hmm, what you have described sounds like a dichroic filter, used to combine seperate lines of color together or split them apart. If making a white light laser projector with an argon and hene/krypton, you would use one dichro to split the green from the blue out of the argon to modulate the colors independantly, then use another dichro to recombine them, and yet another dichro to add in the red. Its simple really, a blue dichro will transmit blue laser light while reflecting most others. If I remember correctly this is called an additive color filter, there are also subtractive filters which do about the same thing, except they come in the form of cyan, magenta and yellow. As liteglow has suggested, Edmund is a really good place to find them. A bit pricey, though the quality is good. Here is the direct link: http://www.edmundoptics.com/onlineca...productID=1734

Actually, that is the wrong type of filter to use for beam combining/splitting. The correct dichroic filter and link are: http://www.edmundoptics.com/onlineca...productID=2433

The difference being, the first link I listed is for 0 degree AOI whereas the proper filter to use in an RGB projector would be the second link which lists filters with a 45 degree AOI.
