OHH OHHH i got the perfect car for you!
(runs to get cheesy looking salesmen jacket.)
How would you like to be the proud owner of a 1992 ford PROBE!?
    Excited?! i can tell!
Now shes like an old women in her 60's she has got class and still alot of life left to give.
only 100,000 miles and she is on her second engine, and trans. (frame has 190k on it)
This car was remade to barely use any of those annoying sensors and cpus.
So no longer will you ever have to worry about those warning lights besides the check engine light when below 1,500 rpms.
Its got brand new brake pads, calipers and disks, new rear axle bearings, new windshield, alternator, ignition coil, spark plugs, cap and rotor, along with new cables, aftermarket stereo along with speakers, thermostat, replaced alot of old wires.
Also fresh coat of paint was given this summer to her she nice and blue!

Now for what does not work.
All the locks (they are all broken besides the one to start the car)
Windows only have power up you must give them slack and slide them down.
    No AC.
    rear defrost

So if you want something classy and a fun car to drive come over to the east side and check her out.
Here is a pic of her getting the new paint after about 2 gallons of primer and Bondo.

I have been driving a 98 Wranger for about 15 yrs. Not that fun. I prefer driving my 79 Cutlass Cruiser. It's smooth, quiet, and more roomie for the ladies. And, you can usually get them for around $500 if you can find them.

Are you looking for a generic vehicle, or do you want something that you can haul your lasers around in? If it's the latter, I suggest that instead of a Jeep Wrangler, you look into a Grand Cherokee. I'm on my second one, and they're great. They can haul tons of stuff, plus they'll pull a dual-axle trailer just fine, and they're comfortable to drive for long distances. Only real problem is that they only get around 20 MPG on the highway.

One word of warning: If you get a Jeep, do your very best to get one with the 4.0 L straight 6 engine. They are damned-near bulletproof. The V8 that they have is not nearly as durable, nor are the new V6 engines.

If you are looking in the 2004 and older range, you should be able to find one cheap. I bought a 2000 Grand Cherokee Laredo that was loaded out (every option available except for heated seats and the V8 engine) for just $3600 off e-bay a little over 2 years ago. This thing had 190,000 miles on it when I bought it, and it's over 220,000 now and still going strong. For comparison, my last Grand Cherokee (a 1993) had over 290,000 miles on it when I finally sold it, and the engine was still going as strong as ever. You just can't kill that 4 liter. (Even Jeep mechanics will tell you it's a 500,000 mile engine, and that's the AVERAGE.)

    Don't be silly lads.
You know that the Earth's resources are dwindling so it's best to go for a small economical car.

Aren't you more likely to come back with a Saskatch in that one than a laser scope?

There's a big saving to be made in buying an older model and, if you can, do some restoration work yourself............
