Beyond Help

Ok, so I have been trying to learn beyond today and created several logos over the course of a few hours. Problem is I can't export them to anything to use them in QS or LD. It almost lets me export to a LD frame but says, "security setting are preventing it"? Am i missing something? I though Beyond was suppose to "tie all the pango systems together.

Also, in "cue properties" the scan rate sliders don't seem to work. Im sure there is a global "release" button somewhere. Please help!

What version of Beyond do you have there?

Not too sure about your first problem, but I do know that not all import/export features are working at the moment as they are still in development. Your first problem may be one of those.

The second problem I believe is now resolved.

I would drop Bill an email and see if you can get a link to download the latest version.

I very much doubt you'll ever be able to export to QS as the content creation in QS is deliberately kept more simple to prevent in competing with Beyond so it would make little sense to allow you to export and share complex Beyond creations with QS users. Otherwise if everyone could share Beyond creations as QS frames, it would take away one of the main reasons for buying Beyond, its greater creation power. I stand to be corrected on that though.

I have the latest experimental version of Beyond and exporting is still disabled. It is tied to LDS frame note format so whilst I expect to see LD compatibility I wonder if it will go any further than this. However, I would think Live Pro was a possibility.

BTW why don't you use QS for creating the logo's? I made a lot using the trace facility and generally they worked very well.

Yeah I should have checked the reverse compatibility first. I was trying to get some time in on the Beyond interface and was frustrated after working on them for a few hours when I couldn't use them.

I do understand that pango has to protect its different platforms. it would be nice to export as ILDA frames at least. If it's never compatible with QS no big deal(although it seems to import QS workspaces partially). I have some fairly complex workspaces in QS with lots of DMX info that would be great to transfer to beyond. I will be pretty pissed if it doesn't share with LD though.
