Actually, if they passed a law that said pointers could only be powered by some sort of kinetic energy generating device, with no storage capacity, it would solve a lot of the safety issues instantly. Not much good for pointing though, although it would improve the 'arm action' no end... (so to speak.. *ahem*)

There's a whole joke about pointer owners and pre-disposition to that anyway, but I'll leave it to someone else....
