    Both of these posts got me pointed in the right direction. The sliders for the upper and lower helped. I added a little etime as well so the image would start as squares and spiral into the image below. Then added color mod. Looks great now. I'm posting some video in the melty thread.

    As always thank you to everyone who contributes to this thread from time to time. It always makes me want to try new things.

    I tried to do this pattern myself today. Turns out you simply need to incorporate Fibonacci spiral into expression
    Settings for loop=10:
    sizeXY: Lo=0, Up=1; expression=pow(1.0053611,loop*400)*0.11
    rotateZ: Lo=0.58; Up=1; expression=loop
    The problem is that loop returns number between 0 and 1, which you need to multiply by smth huge to get any progression with powers. But by playing with Lower and Upper limits of rotation and loop multiplier in size expression it should be possible to create similar patterns with any shape and any loop count

    Is there some way to have a solid color you can fade your sfx animation or even the whole timeline points to?
    By that I mean for example, regardless what each color each point in a timeline is, change it to white. I'd like to do this smoothly too, for example with my midi fader.
    If this is still not clear, here:

    Im experimenting with live shows and this effect helps changing the laser animation to fit the mood of the music (red=agressive, white=energetic/buildup, etc.) and also helps helps the laser beams fit witht he rest of the visuals (led wall, mapping, etc).

    I can already do this with "emulasers" and video projector software but want to use my laser now for overhead beams.

    there's not really currently a "saturation" control, although it has been discussed and i imagine it will be added in the future. however, i'm sure you could achieve the effect by using the Post RGB/I effect and using frequency filtered audio data to manipulate each color channel.
    suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

    im not sure I understand. Also I just want to control it with a slider, no realtime audio inluence needed.

    It's going to be really hard if you don't control the original colour yourself. I requested the addition of r, g, b and i variables for expressions but they're not added (yet?). Then it would be easy to use some expression to modify saturation in the way you want. Now you can only do it if you created the original colours in an RGBI event, not for some predefined colours in an animation...

    This seems a bizarre omission. I like being able to pulse an element to white, it's just another event like Hue in Dynamics and assumed LSX would be the same as it's such a basic colour control.

    Ideally what you want is rgb -> hls/hsv and back conversion. i is only good for intensity not saturation. I'm surprised that most laser software don't even propose an hls/hsv color space to work with.

    Is that really saturation? I think its hue.

    I can get a solid color with RGBI event, its just I dont know how then to control the influence of the RGBI event, if its even possible.

    yes, of course.

    check "active" for the color channel(s) you want.

    color depends on->constant
    waveform->expression

    click the "expression" button

    set lower/upper limits to 1 and 1.
