suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.
No i dont mean that. I ment the recording file...to make it record less frames per second.
Not loading an ilda in lsx and playing it in lsx.

Hmm, well... I am not so sure. :-) I know DogP is working on a sound card DAC mod for the Spencer projector, but I think that's still a work in progress. If you'd like to see the guts of the unit and suggest a path to adding ILDA in, there are detailed pictures of the guts on this thread:

i skimmed the thread, but didn't see any pics of the complete projector. if you have some please post.
my approach (and i'm painting with broad strokes here):
1) rip out all the circuitry except for the power supplies and the galvo amps.
2) i'd install a db25 connector on the back panel, and connect it to a breakout board inside.
3) install three flexmods or a badip quad driver to power the lasers and wire the modulation inputs to the breakout board
4) wire the galvo inputs to the xy channels to the breakout board
i think reverse engineering mass produced cheap electronics that barely follow international standards is not the best use of time.
on the other hand, i collect dinosaur poo in the desert, so i might not be the best judge about time usage.

They are right there in post #1... the whole thing a shiny aluminum box about 8" square by 2" tall. Power supply, such as it is, is a wall-wart.
This is perhaps true... but there is a certain interest in seeing how far something can be taken. Plus, I don't know how far I would get building my own from scratch for $175. :-)
I think my little one would find that completely awesome... knows more about dinosaurs that I ever did, or do, and constantly corrects my identification of fridge drawings.
"Hey little one, nice brachiosaurus!"
"NOOOoo dad, it's an apatasaurus! See, all its legs are the same length!"
...
"Hey little one, nice apatosaurus!"
"NOOOoo dad, it's a shunosaurus, not an apatosaurus! See the club on its tail?"
This led to the creation of this frame for the laser projector (sorry, horrible cellphone pic is all I have handy of this frame):
Apologies for the digression.
ahh. i see it now. thanks!
the idea of hacking it is pretty appealing. but, having sunk a lot of time into building my own projector, i'm kind of in the "stop fiddling, and make pretty light" phase.
that's awesome. i'm a huge fan of reptiles (alive, or long dead). it's good to see little ones being into their environment and science instead of tv and video games. well done!
this is a 30+ pound of coprolite in my kitchen, right next to a 3' tall amethyst geode.
and some random chars..

so does anyone know how to get LSX ro record less frames per second?
ir records 86.21 frames per second i tested. i probaly have enough at 20FPS.
