Default Anyone got a small Kvant and an ST132 stand?

    Hi,

Anyone on here got a small Kvant with an ST132 stand as I need some mounting suggestions.

Thought I'd pair the two together tonight just to see how they matched and this was the result:

The Kvant only has a single hole in the bracket slap bang in the centre. I'm not two happy with the idea of trying to hold it on in a single place when the bracket is inverted and in any case its impossible as it lines up with the t-bars mounting spigot.

Thought therefore might drill the bracket possibly after taking advice. However the bracket is smaller than the distance between the two mounting holes on the St132!

So just wondered what other owners had done?

Hang it off one side of the t-bar underneath, as for any other lighting fixture, or don't use the t-bar and use a top-hat type mount or one of these...

The K&M one is probably worth the few extra quid, they're dead solid and you can wind the bolt in hard if you need to.

I do both depending on how wild I'm feeling...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

Cheers Norty I'll take a look at those. Pity I just purchased from Thomann because now it means more postage!

I didn't want to hang from one side of the t-Bar as I feel more comfortable having the weight central. The Kvants are surprisingly heavy despite their small size.

I'm wondering about adding a couple of clamps as well if I do for a single hole mount - kind of a belt and braces type of guy.

You may be interested in what I did - get a T bracket for a lighting truss (there are versions that will fit onto your 132). Take off the misc. unwanted hardware and bolt the mounting bracket from your projector using the center bolt from the T bracket. I secured the bracket even further using some hose clamps and it's perfectly centered on the top of my 132!

I hope this helps - it's been working great for my use.

I had these aluminum brackets made by a local welder and had them powder coated black. It might not be exactly what you're looking for but hopefully will give you an idea

i'm getting a flat stand made about 30x30 cm that will be mounted on top of the ST132 instead of T-bar
for securing the projector i will use fastening straps that can be bought in any store with car accessories - i've seen these being used for sound systems

Can i point you to my post in the thread in which you asked which stand to buy : http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...565#post220565

I'm not suggesting you buy this exact part from this shop, but something similar is what you need

Thanks FourDee, forgot about that link.

Do you find just a single fastening point stable enough though with such a heavy projector?
