Default First laser show. Optimize logo for lowest point count possible

    Hello,

I recently purchased a X-Laser RGB 2.3W laser, and I am wanting to display a logo with it.
After speaking with a very friendly rep from Pangolin, he informed me that to properly display a logo without flicker, I would need a laser with 30k scanners.

My laser is only 15k, so I need to shave down the point count on this logo as much as possible to display it flicker free.

Can anyone help? Any suggestions on how to do this? I've attached the logo.

    Thanks - Alex

Yes, scratch the 15K scanners and buy some 30K or better scanners.
That is going to flicker like mad at 15K, no matter what you do, unless you scan at a very small angle.

15k wont be able to display that "flicker free" but I'm sure someone here will be able to somewhat help you.....

What software do you have? Can you read and write ILDA files?
Send me a PM and email me your file as ILDA type 1, and I'll run it through two different optimizers, the older one was designed for 12K scanners and might help a bit more then a modern one.

    Hi Steve

Not meaning to hijack this thread but are the optimizers available to download/use or or they commercial/personal programs?

    Thanks

BAH! Only a very friendly rep huh?

That logo isn't too bad; from our conversation I was expecting something more complicated. QuickShow does an Ok job with the QuickTrace coming out with just under 700 points. It could be tightened up a bit; I think handtracing it might help some but I'll have to open it up in LD2000 when I get home. Steve might be able to optimize it even better with his programs. I'll see if I can trace it and post a .ild for him to play with later.

    Sorry, no.
ILD SOS is inexpensive. Anarchy is licensed to me. I also have LSX I can run it through.

Sorry bout this, I got sidetracked at home last night...

It is 3 frames, one has everything (except the lil R in a circle...) with 2151 points, one has just the wording with no boarder or "LLC" with 1631 points, and one has just the wording, no LLC, and a boarder with 1909 points. No optimization on my part and I have not been able to look at it on a laser. x2
