Hi Christian, as Jem says use uncompressed wav files as these do not time slip like mp3 (or infact most compressed audio formats). This becomes even more noticeable on mp3s if you zoom in and out of the timeline.
The reason it happens is that when using an uncompressed wav file there are a certain number of samples for each second (44100 16 bit from memory for CD quality) so if you need to advance 1 second in the audio file as you move along the QS timeline it's easy for the software to calculate exactly where the audio should play from.
With mp3 being compressed the decompression algorithms tend to make a "guess" which is fine for normal audio playback but when related to the QS timeline can produce slightly different results, especially as zooming in and out.
This can manifest itself as timeslip along the track, or sync issues where you line up a cue/fx whatever on the time line and it seems fine but then zoom in/out of the timeline or replay the whole show and the sync has gone to pot.
Hope that makes sense, it does in my head but that's saying nothing !
Mark.
