Default New Quick Show - Taio Cruiz, Dynamite

So I posted my first attempt of a laser show on Pangolin Show Space. It seems that the audio is a few milliseconds behind the graphics and the text somehow got cropped. It all lines up perfectly for me on QS here. I had fooled around with writing a show but this is my first one start to finish. I'd appreciate the criticism.
    Thanks,
    Christian Samuelson

    Hi Christian

And welcome to PL. It's great that your very first post offers a positive contribution to our community, thank you .

Would there be any chance that you could fill out your approximate location in your profile? We have members here from all over the world and it's nice to know to whom we're speaking and in what country. That allows us to be much more specific in our answers.

Also, it would be great if you could introduce yourself, perhaps a little bit about what got you in to lasers and the love of coherent light.

    Anyway, welcome aboard

    Cheers

    Jem

P.S. I have no doubt that one of our members (who i believe has administrator access to the Pangolin Show Space) will be along to sort out your timing issue

    Afraid not.
I used to spend a lot of time hunting down the correct mixes and tracks that would match up with the files that users sent (or mostly didn't send) to accompany the shows uploaded to the Pangolin Showsite but now I just use whatever they have sent (we do ask that users include the audio file used in the creation of the show to ensure that the preview files correctly mirror the show as intended, including synchronisation).

Also, depends if the timing is in the video or the show. If he's used MP3's it could be in the show as there's a definite time slip when MP3's are used from playback to playback.

    Jem-
I took your advise and updated my profile. I guess it makes a difference if a MP3 or WAV is chosen?

    Hi again Christian

I would always tend to use a .wav file when making a show. I've never quite understood the reasons why, but .wav files don't seem to have the issues that other formats have.

    Cheers

Yeah for some reason Christian, with many laser software's there seems to be a time slip issue with Mp3's. You align a show perfectly, then the next time you play the show, you find the alignment has gone adrift. Sometimes slightly, sometimes by a huge margin!

With WAV files, it doesn't seem to happen. The downside is WAV's cost more to buy and are huge files by comparison.
