Hey... What self respecting laser addict doesn't have a big hunk of unused repurposed medical equipment gathering dust in their garage that they're a little afraid of? Isn't that a prerequisite? That's what I thought was in the handbook.![]()

Laser (the acronym derived from Light Amplification by Stimulated Emissions of Radiation) is a spectacular manifestation of this process. It is a source which emits a kind of light of unrivaled purity and intensity not found in any of the previously known sources of radiation. - Lasers & Non-Linear Optics, B.B. Laud.
Better you than me, Brad! Adam, thanks for storing these. I had a feeling they'd end up in my garage![]()

Been there, done that, got the t-shirt & selling it in a garage sale.
...Nah - remember, that's what they said about Joseph when he said there'd be '7 years of famine, so better start hoarding, now!'... and just look what happened.... I know I for one, have always got a rolling-list of 'to-buy soon' parts for LS-Clients, so.. I'm sure we'll be talking...
PS - I can offer you some free storage at the Roch shop.. Lemme know if-interested..

30W+ is a little over the top for a hobbyist but once you book one outdoor show which pays for the laser twice over, it will seem more worthwhile. Clients aren't paying the big $$$ like they used to and there's more competition, but there is still $$ to be made.
That's what I told myself when I purchased one of Bob Ash's old converted Laserscopes... The beast has been sitting in my garage ever since; mostly because I'm terrified of the damned thing. Then again, my two HGM-20's are keeping it company, so I'm sure it's comfortable right where it is...
I keep telling myself that one day I'll be happy I got them, but honestly if I landed a large outdoor show these days I'd probably just turn the show over to someone like Jim Martin over at Peachtree and hang on to 10% as a finders fee. (I know, I know, I'm a pussy. I admit it...)
Congratulations Brad on your new additions. Hope you don't set fire to the ballroom wall the first time you light one of those...
And Photonbeam - enjoy your retirement in Costa Rica. Any chance we might see you at Caribb-LEM Mark II on the island of Utila in early March, 2015?
