I captured that video from an old VHS we had around the office. As I am sitting hear watching this, it REALLY REMINDS ME of Laser Dock. A company trying to put out a product to consumers.

Eclipse did pretty well and was growing. If you search the internet, you might find exciting news where this small company actually bought a much bigger company. Their business acumen seemed sharp. But then, like many others, they too went out of business, leaving their customers (some of them movie theaters) high and dry with each of the three founders going on to do non-laser-related things.

Given Andy's long list here, it seems that this is the norm. People and companies come into this business for a while, introduce products, see how much of a pain it is and how hard it is to make money, and then leave for greener pastures. Coming and staying is the exception.

(Hehe to stir the shit even further, I'd interject that history teaches that poverty is the norm, and prosperity is the exception, and what America has done to lift so many out of poverty, just to see how many more trolls we can find on the forum ;-)

that was a cool video. thanks for sharing it.

in a past life i was the co-founder of an amiga based video production company and seeing the toaster wipes in your video brought back some nice nostalgic memories.
suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

No idea what his name is, really I am not interested.

I wrote, send me your version of the history and I will update the list, did you miss that post?

And no, that other guy is not me, very easy to find out where he is, if it matters so much to you.

I guess he is British, given his grammar is excellent, certainly much better than mine.

Actually there were many Eclipse products. The one you have there is the largest and my least favorite. The others were sleeker, made with extrusions, etc.

Anyone is welcome to contribute, or correct the list. But I want a list with dates, not a page full of why they have come or gone or who is is the current camp champ. Let's say I set these as rules for contributing to the list, that contributions are only valid if in the correct format of a list without other text. I think that is fair for everyone. If later I find that a date is not looking correct, I reserve the right to add a question mark next to it for further checking.

It seems your list is all about software, except for the first Laserium entries. Do you want to include hardware too?

    Someone had to do it!

    You've missed off Laserworld Showeditor - 2009.

Although were new versions in 2011 and 2015.
