It's not just that you don't want to see the beams if projecting graphics so if you're doing graphics alone use no fog. Using no fog you'll get really bright clean graphics with no beams getting in the way of viewing them.

The only purpose to fog is to make beams visible in mid air. Only if you're doing a mixed show do you need to use fog.
