Actually I think you can get the 6210 Cambridge galvos for about $2,000 USD If you shop around .
I have had a pair of Cambridge 6800 galvos since 1999 and they still work perfectly.
I have a pair of DT-40"S and they are Chinese clones of the 6800 .
I find they are really noisy compared to Cambridge galvos and the cheap mirrors leaked 10% of my blue 457 NM laser light. I didn not have any problems with the Cambridge mirrors as they are the highest quality dichroic broadband mirrors and reflect about 98% of all visible light. I suspect the Chinese quality control is quite variable as they produce 10 to 40 kpps galvos and I the're probably exactly the same, some just do better than others. The DT-40's are critically tuned and i doubt they are anywhere as good as Cambridge quality and durability. Time will tell but you get what you pay for.

Rick, i didnt realize you had the DT-40's . Did you talk to Jian about your findings? I am currently using 6800 scanners and am happy with them, but i cant see spending that again with the DT-40Pros out there. they look damn good to me. Nice tight images.... My projector is pretty sealed so noise is not an issue really, maybe new mirrors will make them useable to you!

On the contrary, the 10k-40k models we have dealt with in the past are all physically different in some way shape or form.

    Hi Rick,
Can I ask you some questions?
Is your DT-40 direct buy from me ?or other?Because I sell to Canada one person only.

I find they are really noisy compared to Cambridge galvos
What time do you buy in the DT-40?
I take defeat the DT-40 just ok,not very good.
But now I can decision say:the DT-40pro real very good ,real as good as Cambrdge 6800.
If you discontented your hands DT-40 ,you can replenish some money update to DT-40pro.and re-start warranty 2 years.
    contact me only.

    the cheap mirrors leaked 10%
I am miserable have no equipment meterage for test the mirror.
I have the mirror test report form manufacturer, and they say >95%
If real 90% only, you tell me the fact ,thank you so much .I will find another mirror manufacturer next time.

Time will tell but you get what you pay for.
Right, now pay 30%-40% money get 85%-90% performance of Cambridge.

Dielectrical coated mirrors are angular dependant and wavelength dependant.
You should have best reflection at 45 degrees + 532nm.
When wavelength goes to red or blue, reflection is less.
When angle is off 45 degrees, reflection is less.
The blue 456nm is much shorter wavelength than 473nm.
So it is possible that reflection is less.
The mirrors are specified with >95% at 400-700nm AND 45 degrees.
When turning the mirror, blue can pass more and more.
But even 10% loss are not too bad (cheap Chinese Al-mirrors have 15% and
    more).

The story about Cambridge mirrors is xxxxx.
I saw dielectric CT-mirrors, where you could see the blue light when looking
    through.
    They are not that better.
But it is possible that your customer uses silver mirrors.
These are NOT angular or wavelength dependant and have >95% of all visible
    light.
But they are more sensitive againgst scratching and may also corrode (become
    black).

Also mirror quality is not always the same.
When order new mirrors, first check reflection with R, G and B Lasers
    under 45 degrees.

When I use my 1Watt laser on the DT-40 !
The mirror seems to reflect alof of green light around the mirrors..
The 2 mirrors is like 2 super green lights when laser is On
So i guess there is some loss of light in both mirrors..

I really want to replace the mirrors...
