    Default Case, Cost & Company

Not sure if this is the right place to post this question - if not please move to the appropriate place.

Anyway, was looking at getting a new case to house my homebuild RGB laser (my case is on old large flightcase) and I saw this:

    http://www.madeffects.com/v-pro-oem-...case-486-p.asp

Does anyone have any knowledge, experience or opinions on this case, company or cost please?
So, would you buy this case from this company at this cost?
    If not, why not?

    Regards,
    Mike

That's not just a case, thats a laser and case, hence the cost.

I'd approach someone like Swan or Flightcasewarehouse and get a custom one that is just right for your projector.

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

If your looking for cases I definitely recommend...

    For cheap cases: http://www.goldenstarlaser.com/laser...02mab3c8785to3

    For expensive cases: http://onestoplasershop.com/enclosures.htm

I have 4 of the GoldenStarLaser cases and 1 of the OneStopLaserShop cases.

    Hi Mike.

Is it a flight case you're after or the actual outer metal housing for your projector bits?
Your original post wasn't too clear on the matter...

Also, as mentioned above, if you tell us roughly where outside London you are, someone might be local enough to give a better recommendation.

Also, having just done a double take on their prices, I wouldn't buy ANYTHING from this website if their CHAUVET prices are anything to go by...

    http://www.madeffects.com/chauvet-q-...d-36-167-p.asp

These are no longer made, but were for sale RETAIL at around £300 +VAT, and VAT was 15% when they were last sold (I think) so that would be around a 260% mark up!!!!

    Ouch!

    Hi,
    Thanks for the responses.
It's the metal housing I'm after.
I'm in SE London, near Orpington.

No that probably is just the case Norty. Laserworld used to sell their cases for more than £1K without the flight cases.

Purelights as lasers, start from around £5K from memory.

He's best off contacting Andy or someone local.

Wow. If you've got that sort of cash for a case I'd drop Winni at goldenstarlighting a line. They do very nice looking case for about $700 iirc
