Thread: Help identify galvos.

    Of coarse, thanks for correcting me.
    ILDA is 10v peak to peak not 5v.
    I was trying to explain about them being commoned together thoug.
    In my case the two "negative" voltages are tied together, which means that if the usb box is outputting 8v (-4/+4) for x and outputting 3v (-1.5/+1.5) for y then the -4v and -1.5v will be tied together on my driver card. Now if the output changes to say 2v (-1/+1) for x and 10v (-5/+5) for the y then although the 2 negatives are connected together it will surely change the reference.
    I'm not sure what effect this would have if any though.

    If I were you, I would connect +X to you input on the driver together with the common ground on the ilda connector and leave the -x unconnected.
    I think liteglow had to do something similar when connecting his dac to his DT40. He connected +x and ground and then terminated -x with a 4K resistor. See:http://photonlexicon.com/forums/view...ight=dt40#2842

    The best way is to use the balanced signals, and convert to single ended.
