David Stork Lecture in Chicago

This is not too far off the purview of laserists, as we are working in the domain of optics. Through some fortuitous circumstances, I arranged for the Optical Society of Chicago to hold its Spring meeting at my place of employment, Harrington College of Design, with the guest lecturer being David Stork, recently anointed Fellow of the Optical Society of America.

Dr. Stork is one of the authors of the textbook I use at HCD for the Physics of Light, “Seeing the Light: Optics in Nature, Photography, Color, Vision and Holography”, which should be on everyone’s bookshelf. He also chimes in on David Hockney’s “Secret Knowledge” theory, which embraces the use of optics in painting as early as Jan Van Eyk. It will be an interesting lecture!
