Default Planning to make my OWN RGB laser

    Hi people!

I own a RGB system Super-7 360mw. And there is so few colors on this RGB laser (7 colors TTL)
It is a good laser, but so few colors! Cant project all LDS show correctly

I am planning of making/building my own RGB laser system. And I need some info. what I need/where to buy of quality lasers and optics.
Maby 1W RGB system ? or even 1,5W?
I think I will buy the maXYZ modules red laser incl. optics. They got really good prices.

What is best integrated PSU or external?

I have no clues about color mixing etc...how many mw lasers should have to mix..etc...

Analog lasers offcource. Want to make lot of colors.
I got LDS and Easylase dac. And soon RIYA usb dac. Also Jians DT40 scanners

Will be greatefull for all information from you!

    THANKS
and thanks again for all shared info/pictures etc.

There is a difference of opinion on what the best mix is though.

Default More thoughts on color balance

Jimbo's post is right on. The picture is actually from a page on the Laserfx.com website, and it accurately depicts the power levels needed to balance the three colors. However, accurate color balance isn't really as important as you might think. But it is important to have LOTS of red. Beyond that, I think budget concerns are more important that color balance.

Here are few other threads (including pictures) that you might find helpful:

I agree that the Maxyz modules seem to be the favorite choice for red. Though some users have asked for more power - and if you're looking to build a 1.5 watt projector, you'll need a lot more than just 400 mw of red!

It would be nice if the SELEM idea would work. I'd really like to see a white light setup running 660nm side by side with a white light setup running 635nm. I can say that the beam quality of the 660nm Maxymodule is superior to the 635nm Lasever module. I still, however, like the 635nm color, and the fact that you don't need nearly as much power with 635nm.

I have to say the 660 up top looks RED... the 635 below definatly has a orangeness to it in comparison. I have a small 40mW 650 that I think looks more red than my ole 1mW 635 hene tube.

    Just an observational $0.02.

I guess it would be best to have a 670, 650, 635, 594, 532, 514, 488, 473, and what is it 440... Lots o filters tho... What happens when you combine UV and IR, may be 414 and 808. (414 is the right length correct?)

So I understand that I need to go for the 660nm red laser instead og 635nm.
    This is noted. Thanks.

Good question... what would happen ? I'd say you'd get an invisible green

being that the visibility of the source lasers is nil..
