    Default create a show with ild file?

    First sorry for my bad English ... I have a standard rgb laser that has a SD card reader. the laser reads only the format ILD and let me know if i can sync the famelist(ild file) with a music.... or if there is a way to convert the files show dmx-bin files in ILD.or if there is a way to convert the files show dmx-bin files in ILD.
    Thanks to all

    I think I know what you're trying to do, because I'm doing the same. Using Light-O-Rama and DMX, I was able to sync 5 .ild files, located on the laser's SD-Card, to music. I now have a lasered face that sings along to the song. Basically, here's what I did:

    Created the face, using Adobe's Fireworks and saving as .bmp files
    used bmp2ild to convert the .bmp to .ild
    Saved the files to the SD card (There's more than just that of course.. I can give you the details for MY laser if you need)
    Used the Light-O-Rama DMX to "trigger" which .ild file to display at the right time (I can give you more details on this also, if needed).

    The end results are pretty impressive. In my opinion, much better than the "animated light faces". When I did my first, outside, on the side of the house, test run, neighbors thought it was a neon sign :-). I just need a better way to create the .ild files.

    At the risk of overwhelming information, here's more details to what I have setup (Other lasers may be different) and I have 6 .ild files, not 5:
    -- PC Laptop running Windows XP (yes, still XP for this.. It works)
    -- Light-O-Rama (LOR) software, http://www.lightorama.com/ShowtimeSoftwareSuite.html. There is a demo version but it's been a while since I ran the demo, so I don't remember all of it's limitations.
    -- LOR iDMX100 controller, http://www.lightorama.com/ShowtimeDMX.html.
    -- LOR USB adapter, http://www.lightorama.com/Converters.html
    -- 700mw RGB Laser with SD Card and 18 DMX channels (YO-LS302-3).

    The .ild files are NOT imported. They are copied onto the SD-Card. When I read my SD-Card from my computer, here's what it looks like.
    Directory path\
    File Name:
    ------------------

    PESLASER\ILD\
    Test5a.ild
    Test5b.ild
    Test5c.ild
    Test5d.ild
    Test5e.ild
    Test5f.ild

    PESLASER\PLAYLIST\
    EFFEC000.EFF
    PLAYLIST.PES

    ---------

    File Contents (text files):
    EFFEC000.EFF =
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5A.ILD
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5B.ILD
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5C.ILD
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5D.ILD
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5E.ILD
    PESLASER/ILD/TEST5F.ILD

    PLAYLIST.PES =
    PESLASER/PLAYLIST/EFFEC000.EFF

    -----------------------

    When all the above software, hardware and files are in place,
    -- Using, LOR software, you open up a music file (I use .mp3's).
    You then configure the LOR software to send various DMX values (this is what I call "triggers". I don't know what else to call them) to the proper DMX channels of the laser. You'll see how this is done when you use the software.
    -- For my laser. the channel settings & values are as follows:
    The channels 1, 2, 6, 7 & 8 are ALWAYS set to these values (Channel 8 may change when I get more complicated images).
    DMX Channel 1 value = 42. <<Laser on, Manual control>>
    DMX Channel 2 value = 10. <<SD Card player on >>
    DMX Channel 6 value = 145. <<SD Card Mode Single Cycle>>
    DMX Channel 7 value = 0. <<SD Card image speed>>
    DMX Channel 8 value = 0 <<No SD Card Special effects>>

    Channels 3-5 are the "which file to display" channels.I'm only using DMX Channel5. Will use the others when I get more .ild files.
    These values are also the values that I change to match the music.
    DMX Channel 5 values:
    value = 0. = Test5a.ild - Face w/eyes & mouth closed
    value = 10 = Test5b.ild - Face w/eyes 1/4 open & mouth closed.
    value = 20 = Test5c.ild - Face w/eyes 1/2 open & mouth closed.
    value = 30 = Test5d.ild - Face w/eyes wide open & mouth closed.
    value = 40 = Test5e.ild - Face w/eyes wide open & mouth half open.
    value = 50 = Test5f.ild - Face w/eyes wide open & mouth full open.

    I hope that helps.
