    Default Ishow2 software guide!

hello all. I bought a laser with a pro1500rgb doongle usb / ilda ishow2 and software (very similar to iShow), but I can not use it, because I did not find any manual online. I can not even open a music during the show. could someone explain to me how? thanks a lot!!

I think pretty much nobody on here uses iShow although one or two have used it in the past.

It's not very highly regarded on here.

I know you've just spent a lot of money on the laser, but many of us would recommend Pangolin QuickShow 2.0 as its reasonably priced and very easy to use whilst still being powerful:

    http://www.pangolin.com/QS/

There's a downloadable demo file on there so you can try it for yourself (no output from the demo only preview):

I think the video is of quite an old version, but should at least give an idea:

BTW I presume you've bought a Laserworld laser. Again many of us would suggest there are probably better options. However, the way forward is probably to use the laser and change the software.

Quickshow is for [edit]men who are not honorable[/edit]. Buy Spaghetti because it already supports the iSHOW DAC and will give it new life.

Maybe we could have a policy of not suggesting alternatives unless the OP actually asks about alternatives? It is getting a little tiresome to read so many threads where you recommend QS Al.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

    +1

In a nutshell, once you have the ishow dac, the best thing to do is get a copy of johnyayas software (spaghetti) that works with this dac. just expect to outgrow the dac a bit too quickly. the software is just fine though!

the next best thing (a bit more expensive) is to get a riya lite and LSX lite software, so for around 320 usd you have a capable dac and a software that will be with you for years to come and can cover frames design, timeline based software and even has live and dmx capabilities

With any of the above two combinations you will be able to use freely available ilda content, too. You will not be bound to any proprietary file format.
If you go even higher and approach the 600 usd price point, there is a whole world of options available, one of which is quickshow

    1. I left this thread alone - nobody even bothered to reply to the guy for over 24 hours until I dredged the thread back up.

    2. If the original OP is having trouble with iShow, then he obviously needs something easy to use such as QS which is why I didn't recommend LSX.

Spaghetti was an oversight and maybe I should have mentioned that as the low cost simple option.

I'm always on drugs, my psychiatrist recommends them.

You can import ANY of the free .ild art into QS and honestly, who cares if QS has a proprietary format? It is good stuff to use and you get a good chunk of art with it and preset beam effects too.

LSX is powerful, it ranks right up there with Pangolin but can be a little daunting to use. Swami is one of the few guys on here that has "cracked the code"!

Spaghetti is great too. I would highly recommend Spaghetti for its power and cost. Just make sure you have .NET installed on your computer. You may get some errors and it may but you off but it is simple to fix by installing .NET. JohnYayas is the creator and knows his stuff!

Bottom line, ditch iShow. It might be cool for about 5 minutes but there is a ton of stuff out there is better than iShow.
