    Default RGB Projector finished and LEGAL! (almost)

    I posted a few weeks ago when I finished putting together my first RGB projector, but now I finally included all the goodies it takes to make it legal.

    Here are some details:
    Green = ~30mW @ 532nm
    Red = 200mW @ 658nm
    Blue = 50mW @ 473nm

    I made the custom box out of sheet metal and I added a 1/2" piece of MDF board to the bottom to help keep the optics stable and to save on weight (the whole box weighs about 10 lbs).

    Here are some pics:

    First the safety features.......

    Key switch

    LED indicator

    Shutter

    another shot of the shutter

    The whole projector

    The Output

    All I need now are the stickers, and the VARIANCE!!!

    Now that everything else is done, I have no more excuses for laggin.

    For the stickers you can get sticky photo paper and print them yourself.
    It ends up pretty cheap and you can also do personalised ones too.

    How did you get the back panel printed?

    Nice setup. Hope mine will be as nice.

    Just a dumb remark, but about the shutter. If it is closed, don't you have reflexions going out of your window?
    I mean that I thought the shutter should be placed such that reflexions go into your projector and not out.

    Actually, the "arm" on the shutter is not a reflective surface. Its black and pretty dull. When the lasers hit the arm you can definetely see the light on the arm, but the beams are not reflected out of the box at all. I'll try to upload a pic when the shutter is down. Ideally, I would've placed the shutter so that the arm is perpendicular to the laser beam, but I didnt think it was going to be so big and didn't have enough room for it. Luckliy, it was able to fit at an angle with the arm still being able to block the whole beam still.

    Sorry, as I wrote in the other thread, I'm not sure which forum is better to post in, this one or in "The Lounge".

    Liteglow, I wrote you a reply in The Lounge.
