    Default Forgive me but...

I'm a little too lazy to search right now. Or... just really tired. Or both.

In Showtime - when you have a show that someone else has created and the music and laser display ends and there is still 45 seconds or a minute ticking down on the timer. How do you adjust the reported end of the show so it doesn't continue to do that? I'm trying to clean up a few of Steve Milani's shows so I supposed I could ask him directly but thought I'd throw it out there. I think it may have something to do with that "4 minute" Pangolin thing in Showtime.

For example, Bladerunner is about a 3:15 second show but, the timer continues to run to 4 minutes.

Thanks, as always in advance. And, yeah... I know... I know... "LEARN THE SOFTWARE DAMMIT!"

There's a "Reset Track" placed around the 4 minute mark by default.

Stretch out the timeline to that area and you should find it.

Delete it and the show should stop at the last event it finds.

What he said. When you make a show there is a portion of the new show wizard that asks if you want Showtime to make the show with the default 4 minute time limit or if you want a blank show where you specify the show time limit; it sounds like the show you are playing with was made with the 4 minute time limit and the show creator forgot to remove the "reset track" effect that Showtime placed at the 4 minute mark.

O, and you need to "LEARN THE SOFTWARE DAMMIT! You got enough copies...

I really, really, wish that in honor of my 1000th post, I was saying something more intelligent than, "I don't fucking get it!"

Here's the deal... I'm starting Showtime. I'm clicking on File, Open Show, and then the shows name (in this case Blade Runner). It loads the show file, asks if I want to load the frame file, and then asks if I want to load the media file.

    All good.

Now, by default, Showtime has the three radio buttons on the left hand side for Show, Module and Scene. By default, it starts as show and displays the timeline with an aqua blue bar. In the bar it reads "LD2000 Module 1 100.00% of creation length".
The right edge of it stops at the 4 minute mark and has that little tiny red triangle leaning against the aqua blue line in the ruler just above the timeline. Now... I know in order to do anything, I need to drill down to a smaller unit than the "Show" radio buton. Clicking on "Module" drills it down to show me 1 minute. Clicking on "Scene" brings us down the timeline reflecting 10 seconds BUT now, there is more text in the aqua line. AND, there is a black 1/2 square box at the beginning of the time line on the left hand side.

The text reads: Animate Only 661 --- WWW.HE-PRIVAT.DE and below that 5896 -A-WWW.HE-PRIVAT.DE Left clicking in the aqua blue box play's a fraction of a second of music. Right clicking in the aqua blue box brings up a little <-> symbol and wording that says Event Length is 03:17:30 and also list the milliseconds which I'm not going to type here.

Now... moving the mouse to the ruler located above the aqua box representing the show and, clicking either the right or left mouse button brings up the vertical magenta line indicating where you are in the show and plays (again), a fraction of a second of music. Now, I know in order to get to the end of the show (read: right end of the aqua box) I have to hold the mouse button down and keep moving the magenta line to the right - over and over and over and over again as we're scrolling through this 1 second at a time. Finally at the 3 minute 17 1/2 second mark, there's the end of the aqua box and the little red right triangle in the section where the ruler is. There is nothing that says "reset track" or any thing like that.

The only place I see the words "Reset Track" anywhere are in the window on the right, "Effect List" and the 16th item down below things like Fades, Pans, Rotates, and Special FX is Tracks Reset Track 1/1/1980 12:00:10 AM

So... we now scroll up to hit "ALL" to play the show. It opens the playback control and if you click the time remaining clock, it starts ticking down from 4 minutes while playing the show and the show ends at 3:17 yet, the timer continues to count down to zero.

No matter what I seem to do, at some point, I know that aqua bar has to be filled with all the little frame and effect changes or, at least that's what I've seen in BEYOND, Quickshow, LSX, Moncha and any other software.
And that's probably what I need to bring up in order to see this "Reset Track" at the 4 minute mark thing you're referring too. But, I'm not seeing anywhere to reveal that information. Grr...

I can only hope that the next 1000 posts are more worthwhile.

I think we need a breakout "Showtime" lesson at SELEM not unlike the BEYOND lesson Bill gave at FLEM!

I FOUND IT! Somehow... (no idea how). Now I'm trying to figure out how to "delete" it. I was able to drag it back to the 3:17 mark though. I think that took care of it. Phew.....

You need to drill down from the "Show" part of the timeline to the "Scenes" portion, expand the timeline from 10 seconds or so to 6 minutes, then you will see the "reset track" effect you need to delete.

    Hey Brad -

Several of us have experienced the same learning issues you're running into now, which is why I started the following thread a while ago:

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...gner-2000-Tips...

Your "reset track" issue, plus several other, are covered by several PL members that contributed to the thread.

    Hope this helps!!
