I mean, it is not so difficult to find out who owns a couple of dirt bikes in the area.

plus, the fact that you have never seen them mans that they know when you are not at home
Come to think of it, I may have pissed some people off just prior to this starting...

We had around 30 high powered bikes racing around our estate one night (a monthly occurrence - some bike club). On this particular night I got mighty fed up as they raced past doing approx 100km/h in a 50 zone, reving the bikes out to 12-14K rpm in each gear. So I ran outside with my camera and started shooting. Before long the line of bikes stopped just before our house. It was a Mexican standoff for about 10 minutes. I waited, they waited - not wanting me to shoot their rear license plates (here vehicles are seized by police for racing and hooning). Eventually they walked their bikes back down the street in reverse and I went back inside, sothey know where I live. It could be the kids of one of those racers...

    Just a thought.

man! a mexican standoff between 30 bikers and a camera! hahahaha!!! impossible!
well, at least "this narrows down our list of suspects"

these biker characters tend to have forums. forums tend to have pictures. if someone has two kids that are into mx, enduro and dirt bikes, he must be really proud of them, so there must be pictures of them around. this could be used, if you manage to photograph the same bikes on your garden

By the way, your math don't add up. A street bike of 1000cc will do over 100km/h just on first gear. So they can't be speeding down your road doing 100 AND shifting gears. Eiher they do much more than 100 or they just rev it up in neutral.

(i have to admit, i am with the bikers on this one )

(a cactus (cactii? or cactiiiii?) arrangement on your front lawn would put them off i think. and it looks better than a fence)

I think Waynes point is that it sounds like they're caning them, whatever they are doing, and they're going fast... too fast (in his opinion)
Mine sounds like it's being caned at 7k rpm, I'm sure bystanders just think I've reving the nuts off it, whether I am or not!

I would agree that they are probably local. If the bikes are not street legal (the dirt bikes) then they probably don't travel too far on the open road for fear of being caught. they also tend to not have too great tank ranges and are conspicuous by the noise they make.

I like fast, and reckless sometimes too, but there is a time and a place, and it's not usually in built up or residential areas.

I like the noise of bikes, but just like music (*cough* dubstep!) that isn't to your tastes, it is just that - noise! And bikers giving non-bikers more reason to hate on the bikers is just stupid.

So, if its a regular bike meet, I guess you'd know where to find them?

In this country, you now don't even need a reg number for a conviction - bike colours and distinctive clothing can be enough. set up a discrete camera, motion sensing or similar, and get some evidence. Tieing that up with another sighting elsewhere (bike meet perhaps??) might be all thats needed.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
