When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.
Sounds more like a grudge then.
Had any run ins with some kids in the last 6 months?
Also, the fence is sounding more and more like the solution. If you want the feeling of openness I'd do a 2ft steel picket fence on the front and why not a hedge sized fence at the side along with some hedge to take it right down to the road?
Only way they're going to get across a 2ft steel fence is to bunny hop it and if it turns out too small, you could later build a small wall say 1ft, then remount the fence back onto it. Alternatively you could just go for a 2 ft wall straight off but I would think fencing would be cheaper and a picket style would retain the open feeling.

I think a moat, with alligators should do it. Or sharks with lazoor beams.
Have you considered a 'Keep off the grass' sign? It seems to work for kids all over the Uk. They're normally straight onto the crack...

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?
I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.
Yep and nope.
ROFL!
No. It's a definite grudge attack. I spoke with the police again today, there is not much they can do but they did clarify what I can do (reasonable force to protect my property) but spiking the lawn is not recommended in case they get injured (I could be sued). Go figure, I have to take care of shit-head vandals trespassing on my property?
I think I like the US system better. "BANG! Halt mother fucker!".

Welcome to the crazy world of UK law, which the Aus system seems to be following very closely.
Here's a good example of reasonable force gone wrong.
Scenario as paper doesn't explain it that well in my opinion (in little bits between other dialogue).
Mentally retarded guy at swimming pool with carer. Refuses to leave. Carer can't control him. After closing time but still won't leave so police called. Police arrive and try to grab man but he jumps in pool. So fish him out and handcuff him - excessive force!

Like you said in the US they'd have probably pulled him out, hand cuffed him, hog tied him and took him home.
well, I would start asking questions at home. any other family member pissed off someone lately?
I mean, it is not so difficult to find out who owns a couple of dirt bikes in the area.
plus, the fact that you have never seen them mans that they know when you are not at home
it all starts to look like a question of ...
