I'll be there depending of the job situation. Maybe there will be some good news tomorrow.

I am considering coming to SELEM this year and hopefully I will have my 3-4W RGB projector done by then. Since I am getting married at the end of July and on my honeymoon in the first week in August, it might be hard to fit SELEM in there too.

If I can't come until Saturday, how much would I miss? Do many of you bring wife/girlfriend along?

Sounds good, James. I know a lot of people will want to see that projector of yours. (For those that don't know, it's all solid state and has 6 different wavelengths!)

Any news about your future career?

It's hard to predict this early. Last year we had just over 80 people in attendance. The year before that was around 73. I figure we'll have at least 60-70 people this year, though if past experience is any guide, each year gets larger and larger, so I suppose it's possible we'll top 90.

I'll know more by the end of July. Right now a lot of people have said that they plan to attend, but very few of them have actually sent in their money. (Sigh - it's always like that. Mad rush at the end...)

I would say maybe 10 % of the people bring wives or other family members with them. If your wife comes, she won't be the only woman there, but she will be in the minority. Don't worry though; so long as she likes laser shows she will feel right at home.

Now, if she doesn't particularly like lasers, then she might want to stay at the hotel with a good book.

I have not ruled it out. I am kind of waiting to see the attendee list and what type of presentation(s) there will be. If anyone has any interest in talking about Spaghetti let me know and I'll take that into consideration as well.

I hope you do decide to make it. I'm curious, isn't spaghetti able to run the qm2k? Can it run multiple qm2k's? If so, then you are more than welcome to runs some shows on the dual scan head rig, I'd love to see that.

I never got it to work with the QM2K but it is probably very close. One of the people testing for me said they were able to get laser output to some degree but there were some issues that were never resolved mainly due to lack of interest. If I ever come across a cheap used one or get a loaner I will probably finish the driver. Spaghetti does support multiple DACs, though.

As of right now, they're aren't going to let me re-up. I wish I knew what their problem is. Right now I'm trying to appeal. Hopefully that works. I'll be doing one month extensions until a decision is made. That will at least get me to one week before SELEM.

I talked to a local sheet metal shop about that little project I'm working on. They want $200 just for 11 pieces .080" thick. The sizes range from 7" x 7" to 6 3/4" x 2 1/2". That doesn't even include hole I want drilled or any other openings. Maybe I could just get into that type of work... The Al alone probably only cost $10.
