Maybe I will be there. This Contract is not going so well and the budget is extra tight. 50-50 at this point, but order me a shirt. If what I am working on is still down, I need to stay here and will not be able to visit SELEM.

What kind of project stays down for six months? Anything involving five picosecond and femtosecond lasers, working together in a academic environment.

Thank you very much buffo. I wanted to make sure I sent my money early because I know that you have to pay for everything in advance.

Thanks for that! Yes, not everyone realizes this, but I do write the check well in advance of the event, in the hopes that everything will eventually work out. I must admit that this year was looking pretty bad for a while there! But we always get a rush of people at the very end, and this always puts us over the top.

We haven't hit the break-even point yet, but we are very close now, so I'm not too worried. The only bad thing is that I have to close out the shirt order next Tuesday, so anyone who registers after that probably won't get a shirt... (At least you know you are in the clear now though!)

Me and my sister are really shy so I hope you all don't mind. We will probably just stay quiet. She is very interested in laser stuff but she doesn't know anything about em so it will be an experience for us both.

If she doesn't understand, please tell her to ASK. I know this is hard for shy people, but trust me: we are an easy bunch of people to get along with. Also, there's nothing we like more than explaining things. (There's a little frustrated teacher in all of us, which is why we hang out on a forums answering people's questions all the time...)

If you both are willing to step a little bit outside of your comfort zone, you will not only learn a lot, but you will meet some truly amazing people.

Come on Steve! You need to be there dude. It's like a tradition at this point! Besides; RGB-gas will have that 6 watt coherent running into a long fiber that will terminate at DZ's awesome new dual-head projector. One side is an old AVI head that still has the pneumatic scan-through effects, and they all work! I figure you've seen more than a few of these in your time, but I know it's been years... Come back for the memories dude. (And I promise we won't let you get stuck in the hallway working on lasers all weekend like last time!)

I have a BD-10A that I always bring, and there will be plenty of ion laser experts in the room. So yeah, we've got you covered! (There will be several people bringing ion gear to the event. The main graphics projector in the auditorium will be running off a coherent whitelight, in fact.)

There will be a couple other small air-cooled ion lasers there, so you'll be in good company. But we should have a couple 3-phase-powered units present for you to admire as well.

The room in post 23 is the new home of Club SELEM, here you will get to see some rather intense beam shows. The auditorium is going to be used mostly for graphics shows. I've not been in that room before so I'm not even sure where it is in relation to the auditorium. Can't wait, less than 3 weeks!
