whats with the two laserwave drivers behind the green looks like only one is used ??
rather big looking that green whats its power ,and how much do they cost
When God said “Let there be light” he surely must have meant perfectly coherent light.

At that point in the build & wiring when the pictures were taken only one was wired up powering 'half' the green module. As I said above it's 2 x 1W lasers in a single head for 2W total output. I am driving each half with a modified laserwave driver. Took forever to tune & optimise each one individually but the beam is fantastic with super low divergence.

Can you spot your DZ colour board on the left?

Brilliant, I'm really pleased you're going to make it to the ShowLEM

See you in a few weeks then...

    Cheers

Very sexy build! Can I beg more close-ups of your red? Judging by the plano lenses, it looks like those are mitsu 635s (I could be wrong). I am getting ready to build a dually using two mitsu 300mW push to 500mW each. Combining the same you are, waveplate/pbs. Any suprises I should expect? Again, very nice build!

hey absolom, here is a very similar red http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...L520G71-Diodes

(ok, "very similar" is an understatement, but i think i have covered your question)

    Currently 1.5W 532, 1.5W 445, 1W 635.

Yes that was the basis for the red, no lids or windows as the whole projector top optic chamber is sealed, currently using flexmod P3, 2 overdriven series Mitsu 71's @ 850ma. I changed the diode mouting plate to make alignment easier & orientation to match the blue, the optics & lenses have been changed to Daves 2mm in barrels which makes a huge improvement. I also added a PBS mount. Spent the whole of the last UKlem (snowlem) getting this to produce a decent beam.

Yes, for surprises if using Daves 2mm lenses diode centering is crucial, also the beam profile changes and widens as the current is increased so set your current before you align anything.

Interesting. Thanks for the heads-up. With the 3-day weekend coming up, I can't wait to get started.
