Well the beam specs while better than on olike correct 445 still leave alot to be desired in comparison to a corrected 445 using lens pair. The spot size at 25' or so for the corrected 445 is <5mm the corrected p73 is around 12mm and still a flat line not a nice dot like the 445.

If there are extra lens from the latest GB available i'll post up some spec with them as well.

Comparison pics still coming but down a card reader still for the PC.

OK here are pics from my 5w build, you can see right now the red is just a pair of 638 P73's. the green is a DHOM, the Blue a pair of 445 corrected using lava lens. I'd say this is good enough even for graphics.

And a picture of the setup, the 638 is bouncing off a mixing dichro to add the 660 that will bring this to over 5w's right now it is just under 4w after optics and I still need to swap out a cheap dichro for HQ one.

Yikes !!! It NEVER ends !!! The technology keeps evolving/improving....and our "BAR" of expectation is linearly linked to that techno march....too bad my discretionary income is not keeping pace !!

Yes...I must order a P73. A side by side, thru the exact same optic set-up WILL settle this. Thanx for the work PB. BEAM

The P73's beam is actually better than it is shown in my setup. I had it abit tighter when setup for test, but an odd thing thappened; Once this beam hit my 660/638 mixing dichro it became a flying brick flashlight. I needed to readjust the lens to get it tighter and never could get it as good as it was without the mixing dichro. No other mirrors or dichros caused this, just the mixing one. Speculation is there is a weird internal reflectance playing into it with the mixing dichro.

there is always the odd chance that that dichro is not dead flat.
that would cause a problem like that , i think

If the coated side of dichro is on the back side, you can get that effect due to reflecting off the front surface and the back surface.

I did try it both ways, and had the same effect. Was thinking one side might be the reflect 638 and one side optimized for pass 660, power measurements indicated no difference in which way it faced.
