I have one of your 473nm lasers that died from sitting on my bookshelf. Maybe 10 hrs of use. I am curious what you would charge to repair it?

Yes, I know that. The first laser died about 3 weeks before warranty so I had it replaced. The replacement died after hardly any use at all. But, of course, it was the replacement and past the year of the original so I had no warranty for what was basically a brand new laser. About the same time 445nm diodes came out so I lost interest. But still, I have this broken 473nm laser that has a really nice beam when it works. But of course, I can't get Lasever to reply to my emails so I am SOL. I really don't care, but I want to make sure others know about it so that they don't waste their money or support this crappy company.

I don't know where your from but in the Netherlands you get a 1 year warranty on the replacement also.

Who knows. They didn't even bother to respond to my email when I tried to contact them for repair. It's like Tommy Boy says, I can take a crap in a box and put a warranty on it but you don't want me to date your sister.

I have no bad experience with lasever at all. I just wouldnt buy another module then their 532nm's because their beam size and mrad is not really great.
David from lasever always helped me with all questions. Also had to return one another day. NO problem.

What i dont like is their prices. 900 dollar for 2 modules put together with pbs with a total of 1.2W.

I think the service overall is excellent from Lasever and the heads are CNI so not that bad. The drivers could be better but that can be improved. Prices? I think most people that are hobbyists are not satisfied with any price. It always have to be cheaper. The reason is simple, hobbyists don,t charge for doing shows and so they have to pay it from their monthly payment from their normal job. If you want to have equipment the same as the big boys then act and pay as the big boys do. Its easier to spend money if you get money in

    Thumbs down Rip-OFF

Well, I couldn't say that... I've just buy their new 2W head, with 7W pump diode into the 532-H (cni "MGL-H") head...

The max head output is 1.95W CW when it is with 5V in the modulation...

After 8 minuts in CW, the head is 38°C (16°C more than ambiant temp), and driver heatsink is 67°C !!!!!

Conclusion : The driver and head are totally inadapted for the pump diode.

The cost for this head is 400USD more than the 1.5W one (who output 1.6-1.7W). A total rip off when you pay 400USD more for 250mW...

    What's more...

Oh, yes! I forgot the best thing...

I paid additionnal cost than the normal price for having a "selected" head with beam <2.5mm diameter. Why? because I planed to add a 2:1 telescopic for having a <5mm beam and divergence of 0,8mrad. On the datasheet, this is written that the head has 2.1mm beam diameter, so with telescopic this should be 4.2mm... I can take a picture of the "certification sheet" if someone want!

Here is the result with 7X12mm scanners mirrors (for 5mm diameter beam) :

This is funny ... How can I have theses big losses with a hypotetical beam of 4.2mm? Because the beam is >> 6mm in diameter in reality (>3mm without telescopic) . Fake "official sheet".

An other problem I noticed, is that with a high duty cycle, the grid of the transistor doesn't close properly, and the result is a visible beam when blanking...
If someone has an idea to solve that, I'm interrested . perhaps a capacitor who is defect? The beam progressively disappear when there is 0V in the modulation after this high duty-cycle, it take 2-3 secondes to go from ON to OFF.

and about sending cost.... I paid 95 USD, not 40. Ok I had 2X 532-NL heads with, but I don't believe that the package weight was 2.5X heavier... and I live in a European country, not in a remote area.

Asked for a discount as I bought 3 heads (and I bought other heads before, so I am a quite good customer), at least only free shipping. I received NOTHING !!!!

And as said JohnYayas, David responds when you give him money but when you ask for a problem, you had to send mails and mails to expect a reply.

So yes the head works so-so but I haven't time to re-send head in china and loose all the Summer time. The last 2 heads I sent back for repair (measured 2.2 mrad on 532-NL head with claimed <1mrad on their website), I saw them 4 months later ...

I think this is not Lasever the problem, but David. He believes that he can fuck the client like he wants, because we are living far from him. I've just seen a TV report who talk about these new "rich" Cheneeses who can affort Bentley, French wine bottle who cost thousands dollars. They take benefit of our higher lifestyle and money income. I said that, but the ones who know me, I am still student (!!!), so this is still really expansive for me.

Why? Simply because he sells products to us, he manages the make us believe that it is not expansive, when raw materials cost nothing for them, and their poor workers have misery salairs. The only thing he forgets : he try to own 100USD more when he rips off a client, but now (thanks Photonlexicon, thanks Laserfreak) we have the power to say to others customers "DON'T GO HERE" and this is ultimately what who will make him lose money....

    Thanks for reading !

Nice to hear, I was about to ask for a quote of these "new" 2W model...
Strange thing is I have 3 units of their 1W model, performing for several years and hundreds hours of use, and one is still outputting a solid 1.5W (5mm/0.5 mrad ), while others are giving out 1.3 and 1.0W!

I have the exact same problem on one head (out of my 3 units, the one which gives only 1W), and the only way to solve it is to reduce the current to the pump diode until the problem disappear.
If you want to try, this is the blue pot the closer to the DB9 connector. Turn it clockwise to decrease the current.

Confirmed by my long experience with them, though I hadn't any unanswered email nor unrepaired laser, but I waited soooo long some times... But that is usually MOST if not ALL chinese sellers, not only Lasever!

I'm currently experiencing such bad thing with Frank at Viasho, which is supposed to be the "best chinese laser provider". I spent several thousands $$ on two shiny 4W 532nm heads, but noticed one barely output 4W, and the other at max 3.5W with the wind in the back, so I decided to send back one for repair. It is on their hands since exactly 38 days (!!) and they still didn't sent it back, despite they promise weeks after weeks they will send it back next week.

This, added to the fact the internal design is bad for such a powerful laser (no separate TEC for the crystals !!!), make me think I will never again buy a chinese laser, even if I have to put several times the price for an equivalent power, as I already do with red and blue lasers. It's way too risky if your own laser business is growing to a point...
