Default Custom build laser projector for school project

I'm sorry if this is over posting, but I thought it might give me some more visibility if I directly addressed the buy/sell forum.

A few months ago, I posted this:

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...-first-scanner

To summarize, my project is to build a projector that I can program games and demos for. I'm a programmer, not an EE/MechE, etc., so I'm worried that I'll waste all of my time building the projector when I could be programming. There are only two months left of summer, and I'd like to get at least a month in programming before Fall semester begins.

On the last page of the thread, I summarized some of the requirements of the system, which are:

    http://www.photonlexicon.com/forums/...789#post233789

    • Green laser with high visibility
    • Moderately high to very high KPPS
    • Moderately high to very high scan angle
    • Support for ILDA so I can use the EtherDream DAC
    • Rugged case so I can drag it around campus / loan it to my dept. for use without being nervous about it getting messed up.
    • Needs to be able to project onto building. Nighttime visibility is a must, daytime is a serious plus.

If you think you could build such a system from spare parts you may already have on hand, or if you have a projector that already meets these requirements, please get in touch. If you think you can buy the components and build/ship it soon, also get in touch.

Cost minimization is important to me, BUT I do want to talk regardless of whether you think I'd fall within your price range. I'll pay up front via PayPal.

Thanks so much! And sorry if this is considered spam.

I look forward to programming for laser projectors, and hopefully I can write a development library that abstracts various positioning algorithms that I can open source and put on github.
lasers.iobrand.io • bt at brand dot io • echelon at github (has some laser projector codes in Python and Rust)

Sounds like you need a certified system with a variance not some one off that someone has built for you. If I were you I would squeeze that student loan a bit harder and call one of the profesional Laser Projector companies to get something you can use safely and legally. The two companies that come to mind quickly are CT Lasers and X-Laser; you could actually take a short road trip to X-Laser if you wanted; Georgia ain't that far.

the first two factors combined will cost you 4 digit numbers just for galvos...

and you can almost certainly forget daytime visibility

Find a new project i would say honestly.

China would be cheapest but this is NOT allowed in the US so scratch that.
There is nothing cheap out there in the US when it comes to lasers.
Getting an affordable laser in the US, especially if its only for a school project with the needs u have its going to be a no.
