Nah... Not at all. Groover's original post *was* about the mounts, not the mirrors. But the topic started to drift towards first-surface mirrors, which is why I posted the link to E-bay.
There used to be a seller on E-bay that sold first-surface mirrors in 8x10 inch sheets for use in kaleidiscopes. They were really cheap too - like 20 bucks delivered. (This was a couple years ago.) I bought 4 or 5 of them, and they've been great. The one's I linked to appear to be the same sort of mirror, only smaller, and from a different seller.
