    Default combining several LD's

I'm trying get some higher power red by combining several red LD's.

I know that when I have two polarized beam, I can combine them with a polarizing beam splitter. Not that hard.
But that alows in my case the combination of two 100mW diodes.

Then I heard of stacking beams of the same polarisation. This means they are aligned next to each other. The only problem I have, is how to stack them.

there are a few posts regarding what you talk about.

Arctos does exactly the method you describe to combine up to dozens of diodes, there was talk of another method here ->

Yes, I've read that one. The thing is that those are rather expensive optics. I've read once on alt.laser that it could be done using 'standard' optics. No details were given though. I'm probably missing some 'basic' knowledge about optics, but I'm just an amateur.
