    Hi Gary,

I'll admit I don't use Spaghetti very much - mainly just for playing shows that other people have created for my own enjoyment. While in it's current version, I have found it fairly easy to do what I've wanted to do, I've never tried to create a show or draw a frame. In any software for that matter. Moncha 2.1 is about the easiest to understand (IMHO) so far and, I could probably put a simple show together if you had a gun to my head. But, whether it's a painting or photo retouching program, an Excel spreadsheet, a first person shooter game, LSX or Pangolin, software is always a bit of a struggle for me. I know some others that share the same blank look I've had when opening BEYOND. There is SO much information and options in LivePro they say it takes a good 40 hours or more to begin to figure it out. Sometimes stuff is just too damn complex to satify the needs of a large user base.

You work with it (Spaghetti) every day. Other developers work with their software every day. It makes sense to you. All I would suggest when designing 3.0 is to periodically... step back, and try to look at what you're creating with a newbie set of eyes. As if it's someone who's never really worked with laser software and, ask yourself if a layperson would find it intuitive and have the ability to be successful using it right out of the box.

I have nothing else to offer about where this should be placed or, how I would prefer to do one thing or another. But as a user... that's the kind of thing I'd like to see more of by developers. Leave as many options available to an advanced user but... somehow make it simple to get started. I'm sure that's a challenge that i can't even begin to comprehend.

If nothing else.... with my track record, at least you'll know I'll probably buy it! Heck I buy everything else! LOL

Thank you for the input. If you happen to use Spaghetti again in the not-to-distant future give some thought about what seems cumbersome or not obvious. Even if you are just playing a show or browsing around I am interested in your feedback. Most people are like you and they don't create shows. They just play them. So, there is a lot of value in hearing how people would like to play shows. Or, if you have nothing better to do sometime, try to create a new show project and see where you get stuck or get irritated and let me know where that is in the process. Maybe I can improve that aspect. I get what you saying about stepping back and looking at it from a newbie's perspective. That is what I continually do, actually. But, it's always better to have actual newbies or even experienced users give feedback since everyone thinks differently. So, that's the point of my request for input. And, if there is some feature in another application that is useful but lacking in Spaghetti, I might be able to accomodate those requests as well.

    Hey Gary,

I generally second all the commends colouredmirrorball wrote over at the hinged newt forum
Especially the beat synching function, or a feature where you dial in or tap or something the BMP and it figures if it should change the frame every beat, or 2 or 4 beats etc

As a playback and ilda frame browser I have found it excellent

I haven' t tried to create a show, maybe i should and see what happens
    "its called character briggs..."
