I'll just add a plug for the DT scanners as nobody has addressed it yet. DT or Dragon Tiger is a manufacturer of scanners and have a few flavors, I think there was or is a DT25, the DT30, the DT40Pros and DT40 wides. They are probably the best scanners coming out of China and are at a mid-level price point. The cheap stuff is $100-$200. The mid level is $300-$600 and moving to high end scanners such as Cambridge Technologies or Eye Magics will send you north of $1000 and up to $2,500.

While DT30's are ok., it's not a lot more to go with the DT40 Pros and probably worth that little bit of extra money. DT40wides are just an amazing product as far as I'm concerned as they allow for stupid wide scanning angles which are of no use in your home but, in a large venue will blow your socks off.

I'd opt for DT-40Pros.
