ID:	33354So... I'm sitting here with this expensive little black box on my desk. Well, not so little based on the Sharpie in the picture. It just came in the mail.

It's a Netlase DAC, made by JMLaser and from what I've found, there have been just a few references to it here. Googling has turned up the unboxed version on sale through spectrabeam as well as a site where I can register and spend $5 to download a manual. JM has nothing on their website about it. It came bundled with Phoenix 4 ProPlus laser software which I picked up because... well.... uh,... I don't know exactly. (I don't have time to learn the software I already own but, "it was a good deal" and I have this err...addiction, see?)

Anyone able to share some insight into this before I drop $5 to download a manual? I'm guessing it's a rather large, heavy FB3 of sorts. That needs wall power! I've seen references to a driver disc, and that concerns me a bit as it didn't come with one so maybe that's wrong. Plus the ILDA in doesn't make a lot of sense either. I'm guessing Phoenix goes out of the computer and into this via the ethernet port. But, I'm not certain about the dipswitches or if they come into play at all if you're not doing anything with DMX.

I suspect the likes of mccarrot, laserwinkel and Dr Lava might have some answers but, I haven't PM'd any of them directly yet. I'm guessing this item is more widely known about on the other side of the pond.

Thanks in advance for any replies!

It's basically a net enabled easylase. In fact, you should be able to select the EasyLase driver and use it. It should work with Spaghetti but since I don't have one I can't confirm it. So, check the EasyLase manual first and see if you can guess the rest.

Yes, I got it from Greg. I opted for the one he had all wired in a box as opposed to the raw card. Glad to hear you have a similar setup! I hope to get it fired up tonight and check it out.

    Thanks!

I didn't bring the box home from work but, I got the software installed, updated and have been exploring. I'll try hooking up to the box and getting some photons flying tomorrow.

    Hi,

not in my Office, but if you need Infos send me an EMail.
The Netlase works with Dynamics, Phoenix, HE-Laserscan and other ones.
Its a 200kpps Network DAC with 16 Bit XY and 4 or 6 Colors.
Think its the stabelest Networkdac you can get this Time. I worked on the jmlaser.dll a long Time.
    Greetings

"It's basically a net enabled easylase"...the Netlase is a "net enabled easylase" like Spaghetti is the "Starteredition" of Beyond Ultimade...
On the ProLight&Sound in Frankfurt the Netlase DACs are the only Net-DACīs which run from Morning to Evening without Replugs / Power on/off
Uploaded the Doku for you: www.mylaserpage.de/down/NetLase_E.zip..

You need to know something about the jmlaser.dll
Renamed to easylase.dll the Card will work with Software which supports the Easylase.
Renamed to *.mld it will work with Mamba
    Greetings

Yes, that is what I meant. You can use a NetLase as an EasyLase so if you have software that supports EasyLase you can use the NetLase.
