Hi all, I've been working on a project with another PL'er for a while now and with all the "old school" and analog console talk I figured it might be close enough to talk about it a bit. This thread is primarily to gauge interest in such a device. There will be at least 2 of these consoles created, one for me and the other for the person helping me with this. I wish I could complete one in time for SELEM, but that isn't going to happen, though I may have the circuit boards printed by then. I'd like to make more, but I need to see what kind of interest there would be and work on some agreements. I've not sat down and done an accurate analysis of cost, but I expect to be able to build these for somewhere around $600 to $800 each. I've attached a page showing what knobs and sliders would be available on the console as well as a glimpse of the circuit board layout I've been working on. This is just one of several circuit boards that would be in the console. Please understand that this isn't something that's going to be available next week, it will likely be early to mid 2013. I'm just wanting to know who would put down that kind of cash for an analog console. And this is a purely analog console, no digital involved. This console can work standalone or manipulate an image input from a DAC. It will also have a left right audio input.
To me, this seems pretty useless for most folks out there doing beam shows. I just can't imagine there's going to be much interest at the expected price range, maybe I'm wrong. Looking for your input.
