Default Hey, who has a 5 color soild state projector.

I have been thinking about color fidelity lately and I was wondering who has a 5 color solid state projector? I know someone does I just can't remember who it is.

    Personally I would like to build a 5 color probably: ~450 of 405, 1W of 445, ~250mw 532, ~1W of 638, ~1w 650.
Any words of advice? where did you get the dicros?

    thanks,
    chad

do you find that having the additional color lines, especially the two reds, make a difference?

    i've been thinking about doing
    405/445/532/640/660.

suppose you're thinkin' about a plate o' shrimp. Suddenly someone'll say, like, plate, or shrimp, or plate o' shrimp out of the blue, no explanation. No point in lookin' for one, either. It's all part of a cosmic unconciousness.

Cool! Do you have it balanced for white or for power. Or did you find some happy medium?

the reds are not modulated separately, purely for additional power

I personally don't like 405 for graphics, it messes with my vision and gives me a headache (I see the violet "in front" of the other colors, its weird) for beams I would imagine it would give you some interesting deep colors

Yeah it is a very strange color/wavelength. We don't focus on that end of the spectrum very well but I think that is a bonus. I am going for "out of the ordinary".
Any way, I have some stuff to think about.
    thanks,

I have a 6 color. Adam has seen it and was quite impressed. There isn't any 405 in it.

If it's any help, in my previous projector I had...

    660
    642
    532
    473
    445

All driven to produce a nice white. The little extra it brough to the pallette was very nice.
