    Default problem: galvos vibrating!

    Hi everybody,

    I Have a 30k scanner from spaceLas :
    http://shop.spacelas.com/30k-high-sp...pps-p-242.html

The problem is when I connect my Y signal the corresponding galvo starts to vibrate, it stops when I disconnect the signal .The vibration starts from a certain value of the size pot and grows in function, before this value the mirror doesn't move .

Have you any idea about this situation ?

Thank you so much for your help

(Actually I can say anything about the X Galvo because I have some wires disconnected)

Dont mess around with the pots on the drivers unless ou know everything about them. They can kill your galvos.
The knobs have glue on them for a reason!
    Or maybe i misunderstood you....
You are unique! Just like everyone else...

Check and make sure the grounds are good and connected from the power supply to the galvo amps. I am not talking signal shield grounds imam talking power.

If you are connecting a signal to the amp then I would think you'd want the galvo to move, otherwise your scanning system doesn't work properly. Signal in, scanned image out.

You are using Bonetti's defense against me, ah?

I thought it fitting, considering the rocky terrain.

On the power supply you need all three power inputs and then you also need the jumper wire provided connected from ground input to the power supply outputs ground I believe these are the yellow wires. If the ground connection is not present you will get a bouncing dancing around. I am pulling this from memory so verify. But I know when my projector was ground lifted the scanners would bounce.

yes we can suppose that, because the output signal doesn't change if I change the input one (it's always a kind of repetitive oscillation). but I don't know if the driver gives a wrong value on the output or it's because of a problem on the galvo so the receiver cells returns a wrong value about the position of the mirror.

is the input ground good from the outlet to the PS. You need to be sure the wall ground is good not just that it is connected. Perhaps try another outlet. Then again maybe i am not sure the problem you are talking about have you a video of it?
