Default Cylindrical lens sets - another groupbuy

    Hey guys,

I have been doing some testing on a couple of lens sets. one with a 4x magnification, and one with a 6x magnification.

    Lens sizes are as follows:

Convex lens - 12mm high by 10mm wide
concave lens - 12mm high by 6mm wide

    Material:BK7
    Surface Quality:60-40
    Coating:AR A:350-650nm

All lenses are the same height, which should make mounting them a bit easier. If there is enough interest, I might get some small platforms made with screw slots to allow for mounting and alignment. We would probably be looking at ~5AUD per lens mount..

Prices: if we can get 50 sets, we are looking at $45AUD per set, if we can get 100 sets we are looking at $40AUD per set - airmail shipping and PP fees included in price.

It would make more sense to go with one mag ratio as opposed to 2, and I personally prefer the 4x over the 6x as there is more space between the diode and the first lens to do stuff like diode combining.

Lead times would be roughly 5 weeks from the time I order

    Cheers

    Dave

Would the 4x or 6x be better for taming the ML501P73? Is the only difference the distance between the diode and first lens is bigger with the 4x and smaller with the 6x?

It shouldn't really make too much difference, mainly because the divergence of the diode is so large to begin with.

    Hey dave,

got any rough data on losses for 445nm and 638nm?

    Cheers!

    Hey frank,

I did some tests with a 637nm diode, and TBH, I could hardly detect any.. Ill have another crack over the weekend, and see if i can give everyone some concrete figures
